International Dot Day 2026
Every idea, venture, solution and creative pursuit has to start somewhere. Sometimes, all it takes is one small dot.
Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ beloved children’s book The Dot, International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and making your mark. This year, the CSU Institute for Entrepreneurship is bringing that spirit to campus with The Dot Pitch.
“If you could leave one mark on the world, what would it be?”
What's Your Dot?
Maybe it’s an idea you’ve been thinking about for years. Maybe it’s something you thought of yesterday. Maybe you’ve already started building it, or maybe you’ve never told anyone about it before.
This could be:
- A business or venture idea
- A problem you want to solve
- A product, service or invention
- A creative project
- A social or community initiative
- An idea you’ve been sitting on but haven’t started yet
- Something completely different
There is no “right” kind of dot. If it matters to you, we want to hear about it.

How the Dot Pitch Works
On September 15, CSU students will take the mic and have one minute maximum to share their answer to one question:
“If you could leave one mark on the world, what would it be?”
There’s no pitch deck. No prototype required. No complicated application process.
Just bring your thoughts, step up to the mic and tell us about the mark you want to make!
Pitch length: 60 seconds maximum
Who Can Participate?
If you’re a CSU student, you’re invited.
The Dot Pitch is open to current CSU students from any major, college or level of study.
You don’t even need to consider yourself an entrepreneur!
At the CSU Institute for Entrepreneurship, we take a zero-barriers approach to entrepreneurship. We believe creativity, problem-solving and the courage to try something new belong to everyone.
The Dot Pitch is simply a place to start.
